Ancestry where is my shoebox

I have saved some records transcribed by Ancestry from the LMA to my shoebox, I cannot print out the actual image itself, when I press the print icon on the top of the sheet next to share etc it says "an error occurred during the operation", I have tried the help button, it gives plenty of advice on problems with viewing the sheet but nothing that relates to printing.

If I try to print from the usual tool bar it just does the top couple of lines not the image. I have Vista and no other problems of printing with Ancestry. Thanks Lesley. But I tested it with the web address of an Ancestry record.

I found that it works fine. However, the only annotation you can add is a friendly name to the link. Many people want to get more organized than that. But I saw the method mentioned on one of the genealogy forums, and thought it was really neat. The idea is that you add a person to your family tree who is disconnected from everybody else. The point is that you can save records to this placeholder profile without having to associate them yet to a genuine tree profile.

You can get more creative and add facts, notes, and comments within this placeholder person. The great advantage of using an independent method is that you can use it across all your preferred genealogy sites. Lots of people use Evernote or Microsoft OneNote. You can organize your entries into categories, and include citations and images. You can also search within either system. Some people swear by the Zotero application to organize and bookmark their records.

You may also find a browser plugin that suits you. My warning at using plugins is that the developers can stop maintaining them, and they can suddenly stop working when the browser changes over time. Basically, the developer moved on to other things. This is referring to a completely different application.

I can suppose that the thinking is that any other user accessing the source document will only see the Family Search transcription and from that point can access the source document if validated by their LDS or Family Search log-in.

I'm happy to report that the problems I had with creating folders has now been fixed, so that I was able to create 2 separate folders, and move saved document images to each via my iPad. Click on the link provided. Shoebox contents come in two, separately stored varieties: 1.
