Why is lwrc so expensive

Any links to Amazon. This means that a portion of any purchase you make within 24 hours of clicking goes to us, at no cost to you. We appreciate the support! Not buying it bro, There are plenty more reasons then you stated to buy quality expensive firearms, hierlooms, buying a product once instead of every five years because your palmetto state armory gun keeps going through bolts.

Also and this is a bit extreme, BUT I do think its valid in todays political climate, there is a senario where you may have to bury or hide your weapons for long periods of time, whose to say that hiding place is not at the bottom of your koi pond in the back yard, or underground where moisture can become a problem, also some of buy weapon with the thouggt of having to repel some kind of invading force, whether thats looters in a natural disaster, general home defense like you stated, shoot even a more serious invading force like north korea or god forbid our own governing forces trying to disarm the populace.

Furthermore are you kinda in a way not doing the same thing by calling people that by those hi end weapons snobby, that you say your article is preaching against. Not raging on others weapon setups. Also I find your, example in the begining, about the STI guns having neglegent discharges, alittle disingenuous, I would argue that the people were the cause of the discharge not the gun, so whether they were carrying cheap glocks or fance niggthawks it would have happened either way.

There are many many instances of polymer gun owners having negligent discharges I might argue they are more likely due to the fact most polymers do not have a safety. Anyway you asked me to come at you and this is me trying to do it respectfully. But I am not telling you anything you dont know or at least you should if your a firearms writer.

Happens all the time. The purpose is to highlight that skill matters. A good barrel, a consistent, smooth trigger, and good sights can improve the baseline of performance of the gun and shooter with a moderate price tag. Yep I agree those things can help. Sighting systems I feel like are something that tailors the gun to your particular requirements. Fancy triggers eh sometimes they cover up flaws in the fundamentals. It kicked less than my SEI Crazy Horse despite being 3lbs lighter and was just as accurate with controls similar to the M16A2 I used in a professional capacity many years ago.

Almost all Mk17 malfunctions documented by CRANE-NSWC were charging handle contact with hands, terrain surfaces, slings and related gear while firing and improper gas regulator settings.

LWRC is just marketing. Neither is better than the other. All about personal preferences and price. A piston it would be an LWRC. Pass on both. LWRC for lightweight and ambi features. Would I be better off buyinng say a DD barrel and putting together my own rifle? Is there a lot of hand-fitting done? They look great, but is that enough? The only folks that want a "piston" LWRC are those that don't understand its history, understand how the ar15 is designed to work, and fell for the marketing koolaid.

If OP wants a piston rifle, he should purchase one that was designed as a piston. But this is an argument that has been rehashed a million times so i'll drop it now.

OP, the DD will never let you down I am not a fan of piston ARs. Go DD, excellent quality and customer service. I cannot speak to the accuracy of the DD, but I don't expect match accuracy out of a chrome lined steel barrel. The most accurate chrome lined barrel I have is a BCM. More so than the chrome lined Noveskes. I've shot my buddies DD a lot I actually gave it to him and have done an in depth cleaning on it. It is very well assembled rifle and the machining is very clean. The only change we made was to put a Geissele trigger in it.

PWS is also a great choice but if you plan on getting one please dont get the upper only and slap it on some random lower.

If you want a top tier AR15 I recommend always buying the whole rifle for good looks and they retain value better. It's not apples to apples, so will not compare the two. I'm guessing you can't go wrong with LWRCi either, but I always prefer something that has been around for a long time, because kinks are worked out in the early stages.

DD has been making reliable DI rifles for a long time vs. Because of this, I would say DD. You need to lift more then. You have LWRC? Piston is 7. I have a Gen 2 Noveske with vltor monolithic and thats heavy at lbs. I vote for DD. But I'm biased. I've had the V4 in the past. Excellent brand. I have a M4V11 in the Kryptek in the 10 day "jail" right now and picking it up next Friday.

I held and compared both at my LGS. The LWRC felt great. The fluted barrels look great. But ultimately it was my previous experience with DD in the past that led me to get it again. If I could afford it, I'd get both. Can't go wrong with either. Both are excellent. Coming from someone who has both they are about the same. If I had to pick one or none I would go for whatever is closer.

Now if you ask my wife that question she would say DD. I felt both Friday night and it's considerably heavier. Shouldn't the DD be the heavier one up front? The piston system adds more weight to the front vs. The only thing I would change and did change, in fact was the DD trigger -- very gritty -- to a Geissele. Shoots like a dream.
