Crime Scene: The investigation unravels in locations as diverse as the suspects themselves, from the cellar of a demolished building to the halls of Westminster. Time of Death: This contemporary whodunit has all the current forensics and technology, but flashbacks take you back to a gritty '70s counterculture and the coke-fueled hedonism of the '80s, with gangsters, skinheads, and IRA plots stirring up suspects' and victims' lives.

DNA: Unforgotten shares DNA with Cold Case in its reopening of old murders, but has more in common with mysteries like Broadchurch and Happy Valley in their exploration of the lives of suspects with secrets…although detectives Stuart and Khan are, happily, dysfunction-free. Episode 3 airs Jan. Hopeful of a closer relationship with Helen, James invites her to the gala spring dance. Siegfried also tries his luck with romance. Episode 4 airs Jan. Medical advice clashes with farming wisdom as James and Helen have their first quarrel.

Episode 5 airs Jan. Tristan works out how to make clients happy but then receives some bad news. James and Helen have a heart-to-heart. Episode 6 airs Feb. James has to settle old scores both on and off the playing field, while Tristan and Siegfried must acknowledge their differences. Episode 7 airs Feb. James solves both medical and romantic emergencies. Meanwhile, Siegfried, Tristan, and Mrs. New crimes lurk behind every corner, from a murder during a summer break at a holiday camp, to contested adoptions, the deadly cut-and-thrust of a parish election, American soldiers racing cars, audacious robberies, student protests, and even a murdered music producer.
