Why is yorick temporarily disabled
Nothing a little asol breathe cant do. What happens then? Do they just not break or do they reform back. They don't break. The weapons themselves are indestructible, otherwise they wouldn't work as prisons for demigods. They were made by the same Aspect that tricked ASol into servitude, so if they were a problem that could be solved by just shooting Star Dragon at it, that's what would have been done.
Question is really if Kindred or their yolk could technically fuck with it. Like we know that apparently Kindred are a very patient bunch as in, even the undead will die at some point and that is why they are okay with a bunch of revival shit okay in, they don't personally show up to put an end to it but I wonder what would happen IF they tried. Kayn doesn't kill Rhaast. When Rhaast takes over Kayn he has quote that says "kayn weeps in the abyss between oblivions". Kayn is still alive, just not conscious.
Kayn says Rhaast is dead, but you're right the doesn't necessarily mean he actually kills him. Rhaast is probably not dead and just in a slumber. It wouldn't make too much sense that a host has so much ego that "kills" a god, internally. Pretty sure they are but Red Kayn and Blue Kayn as they are in the game are the 2 possible results. Yeah still the same, plus if they could've been killed all powerful celestial gods wouldn't just seal them.
Oh no, the void is attacking and Help Kaisa kill void monsters so her suit can feed on them until shes bigger and tiddier. Ahri, Leona, Sona, Camille, and Xayah are helping too cause reasons. Also Chogath and Reksai unbound make them sexy humanoids who want to vore you.
Have Evelyn and Akaili help because of Yuri fanart. Eveerlyn is a sadistic demon? Fuck you she grew a heart and is in love with arhi. Uggghhh stop it, Step-Cho. I would haaattteeee it if you screamed at me and ruptured my ass! Thanks we will promise to give skarner his first relevant bit of lore in years but he will just show up to give away his soul crystals or whatever.
No, because one of his main drives is literally do defeat Viego himself. Morde returns, LeBlanc shows up and gives us all the Black Rose plans, flips us off, calls us normies, leaves to go on vacation, they all fail but he implodes violently after Teemo hits his armor with a blow dart. Rell tried using her ferromancy but Morde wasn't having that shit so it just didn't work on him.
But Mordekaiser lives anyways and no significant lore progress is made anywhere. He then proceeds to fart and burp violently during the final scene. Viego wasn't the ruined king but just a minion to the real ruined king which will be released after vex. His name is Diego he has a mustache and is really evil.
Just watch as they rename Arclight Yorick to Ascended Yorick and say "Actually he is an angel now : " Lore fixed boys. He saw the raggedy ass team of sentinels and was like yeah I'll just die right now instead of waiting for Viego to beat yer ass and then come for me. Considering the same guy who wrote this event is the same guy who wrote Yorick's reworked lore, that's almost five years of regret to work through To be honest, I could only deposit my trust in the Legends of Runterra team at this point, they're the only ones that have actually develop the world and moved it forward, i'm hoping that when the time for Yorick to join LoR comes, he'll have the justice he desserves, he's such a cool character tho.
So that might be the angle they were going with? What seems more likely is that he gave away some of the water because he hoped the mist would stop if Viego is defeated. He'd not need it anymore then. Yeah but Yorick could probably stop Viego himself, so risking his own life for largely some randos and a few actually powerful people seems out of character for him. He has let people die before instead of giving any of the water as it would weaken him too much. It's an odd change for him to suddenly go, naw it's fine have this incredibly important water even though I have a small amount.
He has a massive army at this point himself out of ghouls, and he himself is also a lot stronger than people realize lore wise. Maybe with their help it wouldn't be a problem, but they left him out of the lore, so it's shoe-horned in as a reason for him to show up. The entire point of Yorick's story is that his "army" never returns from the mist.
He doesn't know what is happening inside. He can give orders to the mistwalkers, but he loses control quickly. He himself can't fight the mist due to him lacking the right weapons. That's why he gives away some of his protection to the sentinels. I didnt read it as him using all of the water he had.
In his story, he couldn't spare however much would be enough to basically bring a man back to life. Just checked with the story, granted, it wasn't about giving a drop, true enough. He had however 'precious little left'.
I doubt he'd have enough for 13 people, even if it was 'just a drop' for each of them. This post was on the front page for most of the day and is what most of the other Yorick-related posts are referencing. I agree that the wording there makes it seem like he wouldn't have enough to give out, but I think it's a pretty minor retcon, especially if we think about the ambiguity involved.
Yorick's already been alive for hundreds thousands? Also have to consider that he's giving it out to try and stop the mist once and for all, so maybe he just doesn't care that he's used up the rest. I wish they had given Yorick more focus and delved into the mechanics behind the Waters a little more, but I think, like most of the lore complaints about this event, reddit's blowing it way out of proportion.
Rest in piece that guy yorick refused to give water to because he didnt wanna risk getting himself absolutely fucking nuked. No, if you plan to make an apocalyptic event which should basically be the culmination of a lot of shadow isles characters stories, and you decide to put it all into a short visual novel, then you gotta make sure that every single word, every single sentence is coherent with the lore that you so painfully and slowly updated over the past few years.
Otherwise you are just confirming every person who "doesnt read the lore because it can always be retconned". Changing random shit about power level, abilities or personalities of characters in the middle of an event just means that nobody can believe anything they read about the lore anywhere. They will go over the smallest details to make sure whatever happens is consistent with the overall story and mechanics of the universe.
Every characters location is accounted for even if they arent directly involved and every use of any type of power is checked against what is possible. You can think of it as editors that go frame by frame that are doing something like intensive color grading for absolute perfection, but instead they go word by word. I'm not sure "this is precious and I have little to give or I die" into giving 13 people a drop of it is a minor retcon.
It's a matter of if you think he's saying precious little left or the writer is making an exaggeration, but the character doesn't tend to exaggerate and is fairly blunt and serious. So from Yorick I would take that to mean if he trips and spills some he is screwed, not it's basically fine and he's being dramatic. That's like I can't even a bit of poison or I'll die, but you only have a shot glass full and you're fine later and that's just a minor difference.. It was said in his lore before he had a precious little amount.
Given it's Yorick saying it before I would assume he isn't exaggerating as he has refused to give it to someone before to save them. Switching that to 13 people is kind of an awkward retcon. Unless Yorick was like "doing this is likely to kill me but it's needed" and it's a self-sacrifice thing, not a "naw it's fine, actually I was lying, I have plenty.
Its never stated how much would have been needed to save the other person. One gulp to save the other person is more than a drop for 13 people.
This is exactly it, people will get outraged over absolute nonsense as long as they get to dogpile onto the latest outrage. Imo, the idea seems fine and makes sense from lore perspective of Yorick even if the execution is not the best Yorick giving water, not Yorick being disabled. Let me explain:. Yorick knows he is practically in an endless struggle.
He knows he is not a one man army, and whatever army he raises is not enough. Yorick sees what may be his only chance to stop the mist and, therefore, Viego: the sentinel team. The sailor is useless as far as yorick is concerned. Is Yorick in need of a sea shanty or fishing? The water is too precious to be given away like this.
The sentinels are not useless and are exactly what Yorick needs, specially with Viego expanding the ruination. Yorick gives water but knows that now, if the plan fails or they don't end things soon, he will finally be taken and corrupted by the mist but this is probably what may be his one chance at getting rid of this curse.
He chooses to succeed or die trying. The way I see it, it's consistent with lore. Yorick is a struggler, he had resisted for far too long and sees the sentinels as the reward for his determination to literally bonk Viego's horny out of his system.
He finally can finish his mission and the only way to do it is risk a fate worse than death, but ever since the ruination began Yorick has been face to face with it so it's not anything he probably hasn't already thought about, specially with the maiden being there to remind him. Yorick probably assumed he had a enough time to make the best of it or end up ruined, with the latter being what likely would happen anyway with how things were going with viego running even more rampant than ever. However, let's assume he expected that giving the water to the sentinels would make him be corrupted and get killed: if the sentinels win, he is gonna stop being ruined, and wheter he dies or not afterwards is not something Yorick probably cares that much.
Anyone who read Yorick's lore or simply plays him knows Yorick doesn't minds dying, he is tired and jaded because of his task and he takes it too seriously to just drop dead without reason. Not to mention that if he dies in the isles he would end up as a restless spirit. There's things to complain about the event, Yorick's very shallow appearance, not adding more characters just because they didn't get sentinel clothes, flanderizarion of rengar and pyke, etc.
But I don't really think Yorick's bathwater thing is a big deal. Him just immediately piecing out is the far bigger sin. So he just didn't think his undead army would help? And wtf was that garbage with the Maiden? Yorick doesn't think he is in an endless struggle though. He has said in stories before directly to Morde that he will in fact eventually stop them. He has openly started making threats in relative time to when he started trying to stop Viego and the Mist.
He has been building an army that is in lore at least said to near match Viego's at this point. He also isn't fight alone as he has like Mao for example directly on his side with the same cause of restoring the Isles. If Yorick was more directly involved he could have been a key piece as he is by himself stronger than any of those in the story and probably as strong with himself, his allies not in the story, and his army strong than all of the story characters combined.
Only thing holding him back is he can't for lore purposes leave the Isles, otherwise he could probably damn near stop Viego without these new Sentinels.
The story is kind of dumb as in it put itself into a corner, as lore wise if Yorick had been introduced sooner, he wouldn't need to basically sacrifice himself to save some randos Sorry but Vayne and Lucian lore wise are probably weaker than some of Yorick's ghouls aside from their juiced up sentinel weapons.
The sentinel pistol fires based on the wielders heart and will which is why Rookie has a pistol but can't shoot it. What do you need help on?
